St James', Cambridge, Ontario

Inside St James' Anglican, Cambridge, OntarioSt James Anglican Church began in 1882 as a mission of Trinity Anglican Church, Galt.   The first services were conducted in the Royal Templars' Hall then later in the Temperance Hall.   The Parish of St. James was organized in 1884 and 9 years later the cornerstone was laid for a church building.   That building at 30 Harvey Street, Hespeler was dedicated on October 28, 1893 by Bishop Maurice Baldwin of the Diocese of Huron.   The first church was closed in 1990 when the current building was erected at 520 Ellis Road.

Rector is the Rev. Canon George Ferris who was in charge of the committee planning for last year's Diocese of Huron's Sesquicentenial Service at the John Labatt Centre.
