Christ Anglican Church, Ayr, Ontario

Rev. Jesse Dymond, currently Deacon in Charge of the parish, will be named Rector when he is ordained to the priesthood on the 27th of November at 7 pm (St. Andrew's Day transferred) at the Cathedral Church of Saint Paul, London, Ontario.


Ordination to the Priesthood at the same ceremony will be Rev. David Tiessen, Assistant Curate, St. George's, London;   Rev. Bill White, currently Deacon in Charge of Christ Church, Oxford Centre, St. John's, Eastwood and St. Paul's, Princeton, will become Rector;   Rev. Rob Henderson, currently Deacon in Charge of St. Paul's, Essex and Trinity, Cottam, will become Rector.

Sunday Morning Worship times from September through June are at 8:30 a.m. (B.C.P.) and at 10:30 a.m. (B.A.S.).   In July and August, the service is at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Bill Strang has been rector since July 2001.

Christ Church, Amherstburg was built by British Army Engineers and for many years served the garrison of Fort Malden.   It is one of the oldest churches in Ontario with its first service held Dec. 12, 1819.

The Church's Olde Towne Christmas House Tour has been an annual tradition since 2003.   The tour of 6 local homes and a light meal at Christ Church will take place this year on Saturday Nov. 22, 4-8 p.m. and Sunday Nov. 23, 1-5 p.m.   Meals will be served at 4:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, and at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.   All-inclusive tickets are $15 or $10 for just the house tour.

The Parish of St. James the Apostle is active in many forms of outreach including:  providing hot meals at the Inn of the Good Shepherd on the fourth Thursday each month;   Operation Christmas Child where the parish fills shoeboxes with toiletries, small toys, clothing to be sent to children;   Sleeping Children Around the World;   Stable Project where the children raised enough to purchase a stable for a third world community.

Rector is the Rev. William T. Graham.   Sunday Services are at 8:30am & 10:30am with Sunday School at 10:30am.

The Rev'd Robert Lemon, previously the rector of St. John-in-the-Wilderness, Brights Grove and Christ Church, Camlachie was appointed rector Sept. 1, 2008. Honorary assistant is Rev'd Deacon Elizabeth Chaplin.

Leamington, Ontario (2006 pop. 28,833) is on the north shore of Lake Erie, 54 km southeast of Windsor. It has a large H.J. Heinz food-processing plant and is known as the "Tomato Capital of Canada". It is also the gateway to Point Pelee National Park which occupies a 17 km peninsula jutting into Lake Erie. The park is the southernmost tip of Canada's mainland and is known as Canada's finest bird-watching site with over 300 species recorded.
