St John the Evangelist, London, Ontario
The parish of St. John the Evangelist was founded in 1864 with services conducted in variety of places until 1888 when the present building was constructed. In 1897 the spire was erected. In 2002, a major restoration project upgraded the walls, roof, stained glass windows and bell tower.
Clergy are Rev Canon Don Ford, Rev Rob Luxton and Rev Patricia Dobbs-Luxton.
An Old Fashioned New Year's Eve takes place again this year. Tickets are $30 (children under 16 free) available at the church office. The dance will be lead by Guelph band Relative Harmony with fiddle, mandolin, guitar and keyboard. Finger foods all evening and New Year is welcomed with champagne and desserts.
