St Philip's, Walter's Falls, Ontario

The first internment at the cemetery was the founder of Walter's Falls, John Walter, in 1867. His widow donated the land for the church and cemetery. There is an annual memorial service at St Philip's as well as occasional weddings and funerals.
It is in the Parish of Chatsworth with regular services of worship at St. Paul's, Chatsworth and St. John's, Desboro on a rotating schedule for the warmer months, and at St. Paul's, Chatsworth through the colder months.

Parishioner Harry Yeandle left the church a large bequest from his estate. It allowed the church, constructed in 1870, to make $200,000 in enhancements including lengthening the chancel and replacing the organ console. $95,000 went to renovating the organ which is now a mix of old-world pipe and new-world digital technology.

The parish began in 1926 with the Anglican Church of Oil City moved to the present church's location. A new church was built, opened in January 1931, with the original building becoming the parish hall. That parish hall was replaced in 1957.
The rector is Archdeacon Emeritus, the Ven. Dr. Gordon J.J. Simmons.
Among the church's outreach programs, parishioners provide seniors in the area with rides to medical or social appointments.
