St. Paul's Church opened on September 14, 1834, and it suffered a disastrous fire on Ash Wednesday February 21st, 1844. The church re-opened on February 25th, 1846. Apart from 1877 to 1883 St. Paul's has been the Cathedral of the Diocese of Huron. The Cathedral was enlarged to its present proportions in 1894. It is the oldest Church in London, Ontario, and is designated an Ontario Heritage Property.
Since 2001 the Very Rev. Terrance A. Dance has been Rector of St. Paul's Cathedral and Dean of Huron.
