Tomorrow in recognition of five years in full communion, congregations across the country of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC) and the Anglican Church Canada (ACC) are holding joint gatherings to highlight this significant anniversary.Shown is the cross atop the steeple of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Hamburg, Ontario. The cross itself is about 69in, with the steeple 50ft tall on top of a 60ft brick tower. In July 2004 when the steeple was re-slated and the roof re-shingled, the cross was painted red-brown to make it more visible against the sky.
